A toddler was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle at an apartment complex in East Harris County on Tuesday.

Incident Details

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at 4822 E. Sam Houston Parkway near Woodforest Boulevard. According to authorities, the 3-year-old was playing in the parking lot when a driver turned a corner and failed to see the child.

The toddler went underneath the vehicle, and the child’s mother, who witnessed the accident, quickly pulled the child to safety. Security cameras captured the incident.

Driver Cooperates with Authorities

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Officials confirmed that there were no signs of impairment.

Child’s Condition Stabilizing

The child was transported to the hospital in critical condition but has since stabilized. Authorities believe there will be no long-term serious injuries. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
