An industrial accident at a refinery in Pasadena left three workers injured on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a swift emergency response.
The Pasadena Fire Department received a call around 12:34 p.m. and immediately launched a rescue operation. Life Flight was dispatched to airlift one of the injured workers to the hospital. Aerial footage captured the moment as emergency personnel transported the worker to the helicopter before it took off.
Details of the Incident
According to Pasadena Fire Marshal David Brannon, the accident occurred when three men, believed to be contractors, fell approximately 25 feet from a temporary structure used to support workers and materials within the refinery. One individual suffered severe injuries and was flown to the hospital, while the other two were taken by ambulance for medical treatment.
Investigation Underway
Authorities, including investigators from the Pasadena Fire Marshal’s Office, responded to the scene to assess the situation. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has also been notified and will be conducting an investigation into the incident.
A company representative confirmed the details, stating:
“Three contractors were injured during scaffolding demolition work at the Pasadena Refinery on March 12, 2025, at around 12:30 p.m. One worker was transported via Life Flight, and two others were taken by ambulance to local hospitals. Safety remains our top priority. Our thoughts are with the affected individuals.”
