Authorities in Galveston County have arrested a third individual in connection with the murder of a Bacliff grandmother.
Travis Hodge, 35, is facing charges of delivering a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and hindering apprehension. He is currently being held at the Galveston County Jail without bond.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office reports that Hodge drove Uriah Urick and Tara King to Laredo in an effort to help them evade law enforcement following the murder of Tammy King.
Granddaughter and Boyfriend Charged with Capital Murder
Urick and King were arrested and charged with capital murder after Tammy King was found dead from a gunshot wound in her Bacliff home. The two were on the run for several days before being captured.
Authorities believe Hodge was in possession of the firearm used in the killing. During a traffic stop on Wednesday, deputies found methamphetamine, a digital scale, and plastic baggies in Hodge’s possession.
In an interview with investigators, Hodge admitted to being a felon and told detectives that Uriah Urick and Tara King had given him stolen firearms.
Further investigation led deputies to Hodge’s storage shed, where they discovered two guns, ammunition, and additional evidence.
Authorities Pledge Justice for Victim’s Family
Officials say the arrest marks a significant step toward justice for Tammy King and her family.
“This arrest is a significant development in our pursuit of justice for Tammy King and her family. We are committed to ensuring that those who aid in violent crimes are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office stated.
