Six weeks into his second term, President Donald Trump addressed Congress for the first time, using the moment to honor 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray.
A Tribute to Jocelyn Nungaray
Nungaray, who was tragically killed in 2024, was remembered by the President, who expressed condolences to her family. Her mother, Alexis Nungaray, was in attendance during the address.
“The death of this beautiful 12-year-old girl and the agony of her mother and family touched our entire nation greatly,” Trump said.
Renaming the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge
In tribute to Jocelyn’s love for animals, President Trump signed an executive order renaming the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge in Chambers County in her honor.
