A powerful cold front moving through Central Texas is triggering severe storms across the region. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is currently in effect until 5:30 p.m. for parts of Walker, San Jacinto, Trinity, and Polk counties. Forecasters warn of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail in affected areas.

The strongest storms are expected to impact evening commuters and those out for weekend activities. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather alerts and take precautions as conditions change.
