A police chase involving a Fort Worth murder suspect ended in Hurst after the suspect crashed his vehicle and was taken into custody. Authorities later discovered a woman dead inside his home.
Fort Worth police received a call around 6 p.m. from a person who claimed the suspect had come to his house and admitted to harming his roommate. When officers arrived at the suspect’s home, he was no longer there.
Shortly after, officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but he fled, leading police on a nearly 40-minute chase through Fort Worth and surrounding cities. Videos shared with local news outlets showed the chase weaving through highways, with more than two dozen police units involved.
The pursuit ended near a Lowe’s store on Grapevine Highway in Hurst just before 7 p.m. after police deployed spike strips to stop the vehicle. The suspect crashed, was tasered, and taken into custody.
Upon searching the suspect’s residence, officers found a woman deceased inside. Authorities have not yet released the identities of either the suspect or the victim, nor have they disclosed the cause of death or the nature of their relationship.
Fort Worth police have stated that more information will be provided once the suspect is formally charged.
